Connect Google Search Console

Google Search Console helps you understand how people find your site in Google Search. Connect your Google account to Mythos to ask questions about clicks, impressions, queries, and pages, or to build an SEO dashboard for properties you can access.

Google Search Console is an App + chat connector. A saved connection can be used while building and in your published app.

With the connector, Mythos can:

List the Search Console properties available to your account.
Read search performance, including clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position.
Read submitted sitemaps, including their warnings and errors.
Add a property and submit or remove sitemaps when you grant the needed permission.
Get a site verification token and help add it to your site. You finish verification in Search Console.

Search performance data is delayed. Use a completed date range rather than expecting today’s activity to be complete.

Ways to use Search Console

Ask questions while building

You can start with a question about a specific property. Include its exact URL-prefix or domain property name so Mythos uses the right site.

If you need to inspect Google’s indexing status for an individual page, use URL Inspection in the Search Console website. That feature is not available through this Mythos connector.

How the connection works

Sign in with the Google account that has access to the properties you need. The connection acts as that account; sharing it in Mythos does not give a different Google identity to each project or visitor.

Sharing and project access are separate choices. Keep the connection private or share it with selected workspace members, then link the projects that should use it.

Connect Google Search Console to Mythos

Before you start

You need a Google account and permission to create App + chat connections in your workspace. For existing search data, that Google account must have access to the Search Console property.

A new site does not have to be verified before you connect, but ownership verification must be completed before its protected data is available. Google controls API quotas and the account’s property permissions.

Add the connection

Open Connectors and select Google Search Console. If a connection already exists, select Add connection to open a new form.
Enter a Display name, such as Company search performance.
Under Sharing, keep Private, choose Share with others, or use Share with workspace.
Click Connect Google Search Console, sign in to the intended Google account, and review Google’s consent screen.
Allow the requested access and return to Mythos.

Open your project and choose Chat actions (+) → Project connectors. Select the saved connection and click Use in this project.

Permissions

Permission	What you use it for
View Search Console data	Read properties, search analytics, and sitemap status. This is the baseline permission.
Manage Search Console data	Add a property and submit or remove sitemaps.
Request site verification tokens	Prepare the token needed to prove control of a site.
Read verified sites	List sites and domains already verified for the Google account.

Declining an optional permission leaves the corresponding action unavailable. Adding permissions later requires another Google consent; a refresh of the existing connection does not grant new access.

Prepare verification for a new site

For a URL-prefix property, ask Mythos to get the verification token and add the meta tag to your site’s HTML. Then:

Review the site change.
Publish it to the exact URL you want to verify.
Open that property in Google Search Console and click Verify.
Return to Mythos and ask it to check which properties your account can access.

Use the same site address throughout, including the protocol and trailing slash. The verification tag must be present in the published page’s HTML and the page must be publicly reachable.

For a domain property, follow Google’s DNS verification instructions at the provider that manages your domain. Obtaining a token does not by itself complete ownership verification.

Quotas and limitations

Google’s API usage limits apply to requests through this connection. If you hit a quota limit, reduce request volume or wait for the relevant window to reset.

The connector does not complete ownership verification for you, inspect individual URLs, request indexing, change search rankings, or receive Search Console alerts automatically. It also does not give each app visitor their own Google login.

If data is missing, check the exact property, your account’s access, the verification status, and the date range. A new or low-traffic site may have little data even when the connection works.

Manage the connection

Open Connectors → Google Search Console and select the connection. Unlink projects removes selected projects; Disconnect removes access through Mythos. Neither action deletes your Search Console properties or data.

Google consent remains in your Google account until you revoke it there. If you revoke access in Google, reconnect in Mythos before using the connection again.
